Wild About Wine Tour - Zambia
The first ever Wild About Wine Tour, Zambia kicked off with 4 epic events, in 4 days, across 2 cities! We collaborated with our Partners, Wines and Wings, in Malawi, to connect with their 4 day wine show, and managed to bustle a few of our beautiful brands across the border into beautiful Zambia. Next year we aim to do a tri-nations, including Kenya.
5 of our most loved and pioneering Winemakers showed tremendous faith in their partnership with Under the Influence by joining us on a whirlwind tour to showcase a broad range of their wonderful wines;
Zambia is one of Africa’s fastest growing markets, and Zambians have a real ‘thirst’ to learn (and taste!), so they were not disappointed! In addition to 2 well-attended trade events @Interconlusaka and @thedavidlivingstone, we collaborated with partners @cielaresortlusaka and @savannabelbushgourmet to curate 2 first-of-their-kind events tailored for the consumer market. Bonanza Ciela Wine Walk
The inaugural Bonanza Ciela Wine Walk, hosted in conjunction with Under the Influence, was a fresh-air and fun-filled afternoon of joyous interactions and delightful surprises. Upon arrival each guest received their tasting glass and tasting ‘score-card’, then set out to explore the magnificent Bonanza Golf Course. Along the way they interacted with some of South Africa’s top Winemakers and indulged in award winning wines. A Tapas offering complemented each Estate’s Flagship Wine at their designated ‘hole’.
Lusaka’s wine fans turned out in colourful force, ready to walk the course (and take the odd putt) in golf attire - with many dressed to impress! Afterwards, at the Clubhouse, DJ Lady Light entertained while the wines kept flowing and walking shoes evolved into dancing…
Savannabel Bush Gourmet – Together Store Wine Club Lunch
The special collaboration between Savannabel Bush Gourmet and Under the Influence further strengthened the growing the connection between the Cape’s wine industry and the Victoria Falls region, with another carefully curated invitational event. Premium wines were showcased alongside a stunning creation of bespoke canapes, all prepared fresh from Chef Annabel’s’ organic garden, the local woodland, or local artisan producers. The wines and food were appreciated by a gathering of lovers of genuinely authentic gastronomy and fine wines. It was an intimate sun-kissed lunch under dappled shade, that extended for hours and rolled on through the afternoon...
